On 11 March HSDC Musical Theatre students once again delivered a stunning performance at the local musical event Soundsational.

The annual event, organised by Portsmouth Music Hub, brings together students aged from 11 to 18 from secondary schools and colleges across the region to perform in a large concert at the Portsmouth Guildhall. Individual schools and colleges showcase the best of their talent in music and drama, bringing a range of performances to the Guildhall stage including choirs, rock bands and musical theatre. The show culminates with a vocal item where schools and colleges come together to perform as a massed choir, together with a live band.

Soundsational has been running for many years and HSDC has always taken part. This year, first year Musical Theatre course students performed When I grow Up from Matilda with Year 2 students performing One from A Chorus Line and Freak Flag from Shrek the Musical.

Overall it was an incredible evening showcasing our students’ amazing talents and giving them the chance to experience live performance in one of the area’s biggest venues.
