Last Saturday, two teams from HSDC’s Digital T Level and Year 2 BTEC IT classes joined thousands of senior school and college students logging into a Zoom call with Lockheed Martin to compete in a national computer programming competition in the corporation’s first remote Code Quest.
Lockheed Martin developed Code Quest to challenge and inspire students as part of its focus on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Students worked in their teams through a set of coding challenges developed by Lockheed Martin information technology professionals, who also assisted students during the event.
The event was an inspiration to students to take up Computer Programming and encouraged collaborative working to solve problems.
Digital T Level student Joe Harper commented:
“Fun day out, great practice for coding problems.”
