A dedicated and passionate student hopes to make her teaching dreams come true once completing her T Level studies.
Jessica Heath, who is currently in her second year studying an Education and Childcare T Level at HSDC South Downs has dreamt of becoming a teacher for as long as she can remember. In order to make her dreams a reality, Jessica chose the T Level route as this gave her a chance to gain first-hand experience in the industry in addition to classroom learning.
Jessica, who has already completed over 400 hours of work in an educational setting, hopes to progress onto University once she completes the course, with the hopes of qualifying as an infant school teacher.
Jessica said:
“Studying an Education and Childcare T Level is fascinating as I am able to learn about everything from the theorists that inspired the way we teach now to how children develop in themselves. I am learning about all the rules, laws, and policies that are worked on alongside teaching and how they too came to fruition.
As well as a positive classroom environment, I have had plenty of hands-on experience working in an educational setting alongside other practitioners who can give advice and plenty of help. T Levels really do open so many possibilities and give both intellectual and physical experience that can be used to expand knowledge.”
When discussing her industry placement, Jessica added:
“My industry placement has been so enjoyable, I love being able to observe and use things from the classroom in a real setting, and getting to watch fully trained practitioners.
The best part must be seeing everything I have learned being used in an educational setting. It gives you that idea of how you use it in real life, and it gives you the experience you need so you can excel in your learning journey.”
