Following a summer of nerves and anticipation, students at Alton College have finally received their results! Relief, excitement, pride and happiness were felt among students who received their results today, some of whom collected their results on campus to celebrate with their teachers and peers.
Sadia Saeed studied A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. After achieving A, B, B in these, Sadia has secured her place to study Pharmacy at the University of Brighton. Speaking about her time at Alton, Sadia said:
“I’m so happy with my results! My time at Alton College has been unforgettable. My lecturers were all so helpful and made the courses fascinating to study. There was also a wide variety of online resources for me to use, making my revision easier and more effective.”

Caleb Birch achieved a truly outstanding A*, A*, A, A, and is going on to study architecture at the University of Reading.
Caleb Birch also studied at Alton, taking A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and 3D Design. Caleb achieved absolutely fantastic results, A*, A*, A, A, and will soon be starting a degree in Architecture at the University of Reading. When asked about his time at college, Caleb said:
“Alton always made me feel supported throughout my time here. My education was constantly enriched by extra-curricular activities such as the trip to CERN and the Alton College Foundation’s Scholarship for Design & Architecture. My time at Alton has given me so many opportunities to improve and develop, and the focus on independent studying and revision has really helped me to move forward in my learning.”

Fin Bunce achieved a distinction in the Film & TV Extended Diploma.
Fin Bunce achieved a very impressive Distinction in the Film & TV Extended Diploma, saying:
“Working with creative and like-minded individuals has been a real highlight of my time here. The college has provided me with so much support throughout my course, helping me to achieve a Distinction. I now plan to start an internship in Digital Marketing before heading to university!”
Oliver Withers-Clark achieved fantastic results in English Literature, Physics and Mathematics, and truly excelled whilst at Alton. They were invited to present a research poster about the Spitzer telescope to the Institute for Research In Schools (IRIS) Conference earlier this year. Today, Ashley Grute, Assistant Principal for Curriculum, presented Oliver with a special certificate marking this truly incredible achievement. When asked about these results, Oliver said:

“Sharing my love for my subjects through outreach programs like IRIS has really made my time at Alton special. Endless support from the teachers both in and out of the classroom has helped me to achieve these grades, and I will now be deepening my knowledge of space by studying Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology at the University of Portsmouth!”
The variety of courses on offer at Alton College ensures that our students are given a wide choice of future opportunities. Two of our students have secured their places at Oxford University and Cambridge University, whilst others are pursuing an apprenticeship route or directly entering the workforce through internships. The results this year are a real testament to the limitless possibilities that come from studying at Alton.
