HSDC is proud to celebrate a strong set of outcomes from the November GCSE English and Maths resit examinations, with more than 150 students achieving a Grade 4 or above.
In English, a substantial number of students successfully secured the qualification they need to progress, reflecting the College’s commitment to providing high-quality teaching and targeted support for learners retaking GCSEs. These outcomes demonstrate the impact of focused intervention and an inclusive learning environment designed to help students succeed.
In GCSE Maths, dozens of students also achieved a Grade 4 or above, gaining a vital qualification that opens doors to further study, apprenticeships and employment. Achieving this milestone in November represents a significant step forward for many learners who previously faced barriers in securing this essential qualification.
Across all three campuses, the November resit series resulted in over 150 students gaining a Grade 4 or higher in English and Maths combined – an excellent achievement and a clear reflection of the dedication of both students and staff.
Commenting on the results, Will Sparrow, Head of Faculty for GCSE at HSDC, said:
“Everyone at HSDC is really pleased with the number of 16–19 students who entered for the November resits and went on to achieve a Grade 4 or above. These outcomes are a testament to the commitment of our English and Maths teams across all three campuses, and to the resilience and determination shown by our students.”
These results build on a strong track record of GCSE performance at HSDC and underline the College’s ongoing focus on improving outcomes for resit students. As a multi-campus college serving diverse communities across Hampshire, HSDC remains committed to reducing barriers to education and ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to progress.
With expert lecturers, structured resit programmes and dedicated wellbeing support in place, the College continues to provide accessible pathways that enable students from all backgrounds to grow in confidence, achieve key qualifications, and move forward in their education or careers.
