HSDC’S 2026 CAREER FAIRS – THE BIGGEST YET

March 30, 2026

HSDC continues to demonstrate its commitment to high-quality careers education through its most recent series of Higher Education and Careers Fairs held across all three campuses. Building on the strong foundation and proven success of previous years, these fairs were able to connect learners with a diverse and influential range of universities and employers.

This year’s fairs saw all three HSDC campuses open their doors to leading businesses and higher education institutions, offering students access to national and regional organisations spanning a variety of key sectors.

The career exhibitors provided students with valuable insight into the modern workplace and the evolving landscape of different industries, giving students the chance to explore a broad range of progression opportunities.

HSDC also prides itself on its partnerships with universities, many of which formed a central feature at these fairs. Representatives from universities such as Exeter, Portsmouth, Southampton and Imperial College London were all in attendance, offering guidance on student life, entry requirements and the benefits of higher education.

Collectively, over 1,200 students from Alton, Havant and South Downs, as well as local schools, attended these fairs, experiencing meaningful encounters with employers and universities whilst having their eyes opened to the real-world pathways that they can take after leaving HSDC. This made it HSDC’s biggest career fair series yet!

Kate Creswick, HSDC’s Careers Manager, said:

“In a climate where attending open days can be challenging, providing this on-site access to a diverse range of employers, apprenticeship providers, and universities is more vital than ever. We were so proud of the maturity and focus our students showed as they mapped out their futures and exhibitors were impressed with the engagement and sensible questions asked. We were also pleased to welcome local schools to join us.”

These fairs remain a real cornerstone of HSDC’s commitment to outstanding progression support – ensuring that whether students aspire to university, apprenticeships or employment, they are equipped with the clarity and confidence to shape their future.
