May 26, 2026

HSDC is delighted to announce the second wave of its highly successful Skills Bootcamps, delivered in partnership with Hampshire County Council.

Starting in June 2026, HSDC is proud to work alongside Hampshire County Council to deliver transformative training opportunities that equip learners with the skills, confidence and experience needed to thrive in today’s workplace.

The Customer Service Practitioner Skills Bootcamp will take place at HSDC’s Leigh Park Learning Centre, running for four weeks to provide a fast-track route into one of the region’s most in-demand sectors.

Skills Bootcamps are government-funded, employer-designed training programmes aimed at adults aged 19 and over. These have been specifically developed in response to local labour market needs to ensure that learners gain the job-ready skills that employers are actively looking for.

HSDC’s previous delivery of Skills Bootcamps in Spring have demonstrated a strong impact across Hampshire, helping unemployed and self-employed adults to gain valuable skills and secure meaningful employment. These courses not only strengthen individual career prospects, but also support regional economic growth by addressing skills shortages and introducing new talent to businesses.

HSDC’s learner feedback from the first wave of Skills Bootcamps was overwhelmingly positive, with one saying:

Learner feedback on these Skills Bootcamps at HSDC has been overwhelmingly positive, with one student saying:

“Knowledge is key when it comes to building confidence, and I am now far more knowledgeable and confident enough to hopefully secure a successful job in customer service.”

This second wave of the programme ensures the continuation of this positive momentum, with Customer Service identified as a priority sector where skilled professionals remain in high demand.

From understanding the principles of customer service, to building relationships and preparing for recruitment, participants on these programmes will have the opportunity to engage directly with employers, as well as benefiting from 1:1 mentoring.

These Skills Bootcamps are also fully funded for unemployed or self-employed learners, reducing financial barriers to high-quality training. All unemployed or self-employed learners will also receive a guaranteed job interview at the end of the Skills Bootcamp, offering a clear and tangible pathway into work.

HSDC remains committed to its mission of building confidence, capability and employability within the communities it serves. The continued delivery of Skills Bootcamps is a key part of this mission, helping individuals to unlock new opportunities whilst supporting local employers and strengthening the regional economy.
