At Havant & South Downs College we believe in lifelong learning that opens people’s eyes and enriches their lives. That’s why we offer a range of Adult Learning Courses to help you acquire new knowledge and skills to benefit your future.

Current Adult Learning opportunities include:

  •         Adult Maths and English courses
  •         English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
  •         Access to Higher Education (HE) courses
  •         HE Courses (HNC & HND)
  •         Part-time professional development courses
  •         Recreational weekend and evening courses

 

We provide bespoke support and training for individuals aged 18+ who are unemployed or economically inactive and are seeking a return to the labour market. We deliver vocationally related skills training reflective of the needs of local businesses. We also provide individualised information, advice and guidance to each individual to aid a positive outcome.

We provide individuals aged 18+ who are employed or at risk of redundancy to develop skills to enable in-work progression or progression into apprenticeships, education. Through this programme we also provide support to businesses to take on and develop individuals to fill intermediate, technical and higher level skills gaps and shortages. We deliver accredited provision at levels 3 and 4, aligned with priority sectors, as well as professional training, and leadership and management training across all sectors.

This project aims to give intensive interventions with cohorts of customers aged 50+ years. The aim is to build the confidence levels and increase the skills levels of those that are claiming out of work benefits.   The project has two distinct aims in terms of outcomes: 1. moving unemployed participants into employment, 2. moving participants into education or training.
