You can join the HSDC & Royal Navy Catering Academy by enrolling on to the Craft Catering Level 2 Diploma (City & Guilds). Once you have completed your Level 1 in your first year, you can opt to join the Academy in the second year to complete your Level 2 qualification.
At the same time as studying the Craft Catering Level 2, you will be learning and experiencing what naval life is like for chefs and you will also be supported to complete the Royal Navy application and interview process.
At the end of your course you will achieve City and Guilds Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Professional Cookery and Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Food & Beverage Service qualifications and have completed all application and interview stages successfully to be ready to embark on your initial Royal Navy training at HMS Raleigh.
Studying Level 2 Craft Catering and joining the Royal Navy Academy in Year 2 will support you with a career in the Royal Navy as a chef and/or steward. During the course, you will be fully supported through the application and interview process. After successful completion of Level 2 Craft Catering and the Royal Navy Academy, you may not choose to pursue this career path in the Royal Navy, you could transfer your skills and experience and work in the catering hospitality industry in local hotels, restaurants, bistros and more.
