Art Studios

Nurture your artistic talents.

If you have a passion and flair for Art & Design, then you’ll feel right at home in our Art & Design Studios, where you can grow as an artist by working alongside like-minded people.

Each Art & Design Studio is a large, light space with a stimulating and creative atmosphere to help you perform at your best.

Alton Campus

Among the facilities at Alton are state of the art PC suites with Adobe Creative Suite software, plus specialist Printing facilities including Screenprinting, Intaglio, Lino, Monoprinting and Roller Digital Photography and Design Printing.

Within the three dimensional studio, our equipment allows you to form wood, metal and plastics within a variety of ways; this includes clay and plasterwork, casting and moulding, laser cutting, brazing health, spot, and MIG welding and access to plasma cutter.

We are proud of the three exceptionally well resourced Photography lighting studios and a very large darkroom, to accommodate many experimental processes such as light trails, photograms and experimental techniques. In addition to this, there are many experimental dark rooms for drawing and projection work.

We have a specialist Fashion and Textiles room with a screen-printing table.  There are ample sewing machines and we specialise in being able to offer heat press, sticker machine, batik, embroidery, leather work and have tables for developing samples and garments in a variety of exciting materials.

Havant and South Downs Campuses

Among the facilities are Graphic Design Suites with the latest Adobe design software, plus a specialist Printing Studio with an Albion flatbed press and silkscreen developing unit.

In addition, our ample-sized Textile Design Studios contain sewing machines, knitting machines, dyeing facilities and a heat press.  Fashion design space is also available with high tables for pattern cutting, mannequins and specialist sewing tables.

We also have 3D Design Studios and kiln facilities, which are ideal if you want to work with plaster, clay, fused glass, or metal.

Finally, there are facilities for photographers that include a well-equipped Photographic Studio and darkroom, where you can develop something special (quite literally).
