There are more elements to the College experience than teaching alone. As part of Love Our Colleges we’re highlighting the amazing support HSDC and other Colleges across the country give their students.
Academic Learning Support
Ensuring that the level of support you received at school continues into Further Education. Our staff are here to help you achieve your aspirations, providing specialist support and guidance to help you make the most of your time at College.
Student Travel & Support
Working closely with local travel providers who understand how important it is for students to get to College. It costs less than £1.85 to get to either of our campuses by bus, and we are able to offer reduced rate train travel to our Havant Campus.
Health & Wellbeing
Putting processes in place that keep you safe and help you cope. If you’re going through a difficult time we help ensure that you don’t feel alone. Whether it’s mental health, a challenging home life or financial concerns, you can rely on our team of professionals to be there when you need them.
We know there are numerous causes our students are passionate about. We strive to give our students a platform to share this passion, facilitating fundraising for charities close to their hearts. One example from last year was a Colour Run led by our Student Union, in collaboration with our Sports Department. This event, supported by AoC Sport celebrated inclusivity both by encouraging young people to be more active, alongside supporting the charity LGBT+ Switchboard.
Havant & South Downs College is proud to be supporting Love Our Colleges. Colleges across the country help people of all ages and backgrounds to make the most of their talents and ambitions. Rooted in local communities, they are crucial in driving social mobility and providing the skills to boost local and regional economies.
