With an extensive range of A Levels, T Levels and Vocational courses available, we recognise that one size does not fit all when it comes to education. As a leading Hampshire College, we’re committed to providing you with the best possible learning experience, helping you to achieve your aspirations and land your dream career.
When you choose a full time course at HSDC you can be confident that your teachers know exactly what you need to succeed in industry. In addition to this, our flexible timetabling means you can fit in a part time job, volunteer work or extracurricular activities. Ensuring you get the most out of your time at College.
Our full time courses from Level 1 (equivalent to GCSE grades 3, 2, 1) to Level 3 (A Level equivalent) are free for students aged 16-19. We also offer a range of full time Higher Education courses (Level 4, 5 and 6) in a range of subjects.
A Levels are the ideal qualification if you thrive in an academic environment and aspire to attend university. You’ll have the option to study three different A Level subjects from our choice of nearly 40 A Levels. This allows you to tailor your learning experience to what you’re interested in and your future progression goals.
HSDC A Levels are taught at Hampshire’s new A Level Centre of Excellence located at our Havant Campus as well as our Alton Campus. Historically, our A Level students have achieved a 98% pass rate, with 42% of students achieving the highest A Level grades of A*-B. Because of this high success rate, more of our A Level students than ever before are in a position to progress onto university. University destinations include leading Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities.
Taught at our Alton Campus and South Downs Campus, Vocational (BTEC) Courses are great if you prefer hands-on learning. They give you a change from the traditional classroom environment of school and teach you industry-standard skills to increase your employability.
We have a wide range of Vocational Courses on offer, ranging from Level 1 to Level 5 qualifications. You’ll get to focus on one subject you’re passionate about, whether it be Music, Catering, Engineering or something else, with a learning environment that features industry-standard facilities and equipment.
At every stage of your education your lecturers will focus on teaching you the real-life practical skills that will help you achieve the grade you need to progress. Whether this be into employment, further education (such as HE) or onto a higher level Apprenticeship.
HSDC has been chosen as the only College in Hampshire to bring you all three of the first T Levels, from September 2020. The eagerly awaited Construction, Digital and Education and Childcare T Levels will be delivered at our South Downs Campus, with our Alton Campus providing students with the opportunity to study Education and Childcare.
T Levels are the equivalent to three A Levels. They have been designed in collaboration with employers to make sure that we are supporting you in gaining the skills and knowledge that employers want from future employees (that’s you!).
This new two year qualification is a mixture of classroom learning and work placements and will involve you spending 80% of your time at College and 20% on work placement.
