Our industry standard Music Facilities have been purpose built to improve your learning experience.
The Music Suite includes a recital room, built to concert standard with acoustically tuned surfaces to allow for a range of music to be performed.
In addition there are three additional music classrooms and five practice rooms. The suite is in constant use for lectures, individual instrumental classes and a range of music productions throughout the year.
Throughout the Music Building, attention has been paid to the design of each space for ideal acoustic conditions. Recording to BBC standards has been achieved by embedding all the recording equipment and connections required into the fabric of the building, and students benefit from being able to listen to themselves on studio quality recordings.
There are practice rooms and two large teaching/rehearsal rooms fitted with the latest high-fidelity playback equipment. All these spaces are soundproofed and acoustically designed to the highest standards.
The Music department also has a recording suite of three live rooms and a main studio, with facilities to connect to a further three rooms if required. The studio is equipped with a 56 input mixer, 24 track hard disk recorder, a range of outboard effects, dynamic processors, microphones, digital sampler and CD recorder.
