Getting Here – Havant Campus

Is HSDC hard to get to? Not at all!
It’s cheap and easy to get to Havant Campus.

It could cost less than £1.98 a day to get to our Havant Campus with a subsidised bus pass. We’ve also worked with train providers to get you a reduced rate for train travel.

Listed below is information on some of the easiest ways to get to College but if you have any questions please contact travelandsupport@hsdc.ac.uk.

Please note that there is no obligation to purchase a subsidised bus or train pass.

Our A Level Centre of Excellence (Havant Campus) is approximately 15 minutes away from Chichester by train.

Students travelling by train from Chichester are able to purchase a Student Train Pass from HSDC. The price of travel for the first term (Autumn) is less than £2.00 a day for students not receiving college financial assistance.

For those students receiving college financial assistance, there is no cost towards this train pass.

To travel by bus, students will need to use the Stagecoach 700 service to Havant Bus Station.

Depending on where you live in Copnor, you can board a train at either Fratton or Hilsea train station. The journey from Fratton station is approximately 12 minutes and costs less than £2.47 a day for students not receiving college financial assistance and less than 93p per day for students in receipt of college financial assistance.

From Hilsea station, the journey time is approximately eight minutes and costs less than £1.98 per day for students not receiving college financial assistance and less than 43p per day for those students in receipt of financial assistance.

If the bus is your preferred method of transport there are frequent buses (Stagecoach Service 23) to Havant Bus Station that take approximately 14 minutes.

It takes approximately six minutes by train to get from Cosham to Havant Campus.

The price of travel for the first term (Autumn) is less than £2.67 a day for students not receiving financial assistance, and less than £1.12 a day for those receiving financial assistance.

If the bus is your preferred method of transport there are frequent buses (Stagecoach Service 23) to Havant Bus Station that take approximately 14 minutes.

The Stagecoach Service 23 will take approximately 10 minutes from Drayton to the Havant Bus Station. This bus runs every 20 minutes.

Emsworth train station is approximately a five minute journey away from Havant. The price for the first term (Autumn) train pass is less than 77p a day for those students who do not receive college financial assistance.

For those students receiving college financial assistance, there is no cost towards this train pass.

Direct bus routes (Stagecoach Service 700) run to Havant Bus Station. This bus journey takes approximately 13 minutes.

It takes approximately 15 minutes by train to get to our A Level Centre of Excellence (Havant Campus). It costs less than £3.22 a day for students not receiving college financial assistance, and less than £1.68 a day for those receiving college financial assistance.

If the bus is your preferred method of transport there is a direct route (First Group Service SD5) to Havant which takes approximately 40 minutes.

Our A Level Centre of Excellence is located in Havant, making it walking distance for students living in the Havant area.

Alternatively, there are bus routes from the Bedhampton, Leigh Park and Warblington areas which run to the Havant Campus or Havant Bus Station and cost under £1.50 per day with an annual bus pass.

The Stagecoach Services 30 and 31 run from Hayling Island to the Havant Bus Station every 15-30 minutes. Havant Campus is located a short ten minute walk from the Havant bus station.

The Stagecoach Service 37 runs from Horndean Precinct directly to Havant Campus once an hour. This bus journey takes just over 45 minutes.

Our A Level Centre of Excellence (Havant Campus) is around a 15 minute train journey from Petersfield.

The price of train travel is less than £3.94 a day with a College train pass for students not receiving college financial assistance, and less than 99p a day for those receiving college financial assistance.

If you prefer to get the bus there is a direct college route (Stagecoach Service 737). This journey takes approximately 40 minutes.

There are further alternative routes (Stagecoach Service 37) throughout the day, these take around an hour and 15 minutes.

Trains running from Porchester or Cosham to Havant station take approximately 10 minutes, and cost less than £2.67 a day with a College train pass for those students not receiving college financial assistance.

It costs less than £1.12 per day for students who are in receipt of college financial assistance.

Alternatively, if you prefer to get the bus, the Stagecoach number 23 service runs every 20 minutes directly to Havant Campus. This bus takes approximately 20 minutes.

The First Bus service SD5 takes just under 30 minutes to get to our Havant Campus.

Alternatively, the train from Portchester to Havant takes 10 minutes and will cost you less than £2.67 a day with a College train pass for those students not in receipt of college financial assistance.

For those students in receipt of college financial assistance, the cost of the College train pass will cost less than £1.12 a day.

Havant train station is only a short walk from our Havant Campus.

The train journey from Portsmouth stations to Havant takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

The price of travel for the first term (Autumn) is less than £2.49 a day for students not receiving financial assistance, and less than 95p a day for those receiving financial assistance.

If you prefer to get the bus, the Stagecoach service 700 frequently departs from The Hard and the City Centre. This journey takes around 30 minutes. If you are travelling from Southsea the Stagecoach service 23 runs frequently, with the journey taking about an hour.

Southbourne train station is approximately a six minute journey away from Havant. Students can purchase a termly HSDC train pass which costs less than £1.10 a day. For those students receiving college financial assistance, there is no cost towards this train pass.

Direct bus routes (Stagecoach Service 700) run to Havant Bus Station. This bus journey takes approximately 15 minutes.

There is a direct bus route from Hambledon/Denmead to Havant Campus. This is the First Group service 654 which takes around 45 minutes. Please note for students living in Hambledon/Denmead and studying at Havant Campus, this is the only bus available.

If travelling from areas such as Cowplain, Crookhorn, Purbrook or Widley there are frequent services from Stagecoach (37 & 39).
